Candlewick Updates – 8/28/18 The Beach is now open.   The water samples taken yesterday came back within the bacteriological water quality limits.  Keep in mind that swimming in the lake is always at your own risk.  The conditions are always changing due to the weather. Candlewick Updates – 8/24/18 The Beach is now closed due to a high E-coli bacteria count. We take two water samples at the beach every two weeks while the beach is open as is required by the Illinois Health Department.  The results from those samples has come back high, resulting in a mandatory beach closing.  We will sample the water again on Monday and hope that the levels are back within the acceptable range.  Keep in mind that swimming in the lake is always at your own...

Candlewick Road Updates – 08/21/18 The road construction was delayed today because of the weather. Fresh oil will be applied to the roads very early tomorrow (8/22) morning. The paving crew will be here between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM to start work. It is anticipated that the paving will continue through Friday.
