Boone County COVID-19 Vaccine Update!

Posted on Apr 9, 2021

Following the state’s recent announcement that all Illinois residents ages 16+ will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting April 12th, Boone County is moving ahead with a mass vaccination expansion to enhance our efforts and increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine for our community. As part of the expansion plan, today we are announcing additional clinics with appointments available for all Boone County residents 18+. Currently, BCHD must limit eligibility for these clinics to 18+ because the vaccine brand being received is approved for use in 18+ only.

This clinic will be Friday, April 16th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Poplar Grove Fire Station located 305 W. Grove St. Poplar Grove, IL. It will be for Boone County residents and workers who are 18 +. Appointments are on a first come first serve basis and can be made using THIS LINK.

“Our department has been administering vaccines since December, but like the rest of the state and country, we have been constrained by the limited vaccine supply available. Now that we are starting to see an increase, we can provide an additional 500 appointments next week. Amanda Mehl, Boone County Health Department’s Public Health Administrator said “We appreciate that many people are eager to receive the vaccine as vaccination is an important step in controlling this pandemic.”
